The main bure, with its fabulous traditional palm-thatched roof and architecturally detailed elevation holds centre court, with a pair of equally picturesque guest bure suites sitting to each side in perfect harmony. This group of buildings are at one with the landscape and every aspect of their design ensures perfect enjoyment of the island’s nurturing and lush natural landscape.
Renowned interior designer Virginia Fisher has ensured Dolphin Island offers an extraordinary guest experience. Ambience is in great abundance as Virginia’s sense of place emerges strongly, as she references colors, textures and patterns from the Pacific – boldly and with her absolutely innate sense of style. Guest Bure Suites
Dolphin Island guest bure suites are perfect for a Pacific Island lifestyle – featuring heart timber floors, plaster walls, stone tiles, wooden shutters, high ceilings and the latest in air conditioned comfort.
The dressing rooms are large and generous and these are further complemented by well-appointed bathrooms, twin hand basins, shower, sculptural free-standing bath and outdoor shower, within a private garden courtyard.
Hilltop Sleep-Out Bure
This utterly divine, thatched open-air bedroom, is both rustic and refined – perfect for a tryst or for an overnight stay! It faces the sea and is flooded by the first rays of the sun come daybreak. Lighting is provided by lanterns and candles, a simple bathroom and shower and toilet are located to one side of the sleep-out.
The Main Bure
The main bure holds centre court, enjoying an elevated position above the infinity pool and a series of poolside areas perfectly designated for relaxation. Perfect for time spent lying on day beds (either pre or post a dip in the infinity pool), or for alfresco dining.
Dining
Guests on Dolphin Island can choose what they would like to eat and menus will be created to suit the style of food that is their personal preference. Every day, as one of the local fishermen returns to port with his catch, he calls into Dolphin Island where the guests are encouraged to select fish and seafood to eat later that day. Eating fish that fresh is truly a memorable experience as is the traditional lovo prepared as a farewell dinner for guests.

Activities
With 14-acres of private island as a playground guests often do not feel the need to ever leave, however should they choose to – a wonderful variety of experiences are available. Aquatic adventures abound, with warm, clear waters and coral reefs providing the perfect habitat for amazing marine life. Guests can snorkel, tank dive, sail, kayak, swim and fish with carefully selected operators whose local knowledge is invaluable. Cultural visits to nearby villages, sightseeing and tours to areas of historical interest can be arranged.
Accessibility
Fiji is a 10-hour flight direct from Los Angeles, and less than 4 hours flight directly from Auckland, New Zealand, Sydney or Brisbane, Australia. Arriving at Nadi Airport you can take an easy 90-minute transfer by road following an interesting coastal route to Rakiraki, your embarkation point. Transfer by car and boat to Dolphin Island is included, however other options – such as helicopter or seaplane – are available.
